Keeping rain from coming in windows

Hi all,

We have a Sunseeker 2300 and are wondering what those with the same rig do when it's raining. We have windows that slide sideways open and every time it rains we have to close the dinette and bedroom windows or rain gets in. I've looked for things online to put on the windows or for other ideas and can't seem to find any info? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The only thing I know of are awnings that roll up for travel, one above each window. Can get rather expensive.

Awnings on the Windows sound like a great idea...do you have any idea where to purchase them or would that be a custom mod?

Also even though the awnings sound great. I'm not sure they'd hold up to winds?

Carefree of Colorado is one of a few companies offering RV awnings. I think Camping World, among others, sells them retail.

We put the window awnings on our 3010DSF . They are great, still get air even in the rain, I believe ours are Carefree.

I added a Carefree SL awning over our dinette window. Here are some dimensions to help you order the correct size. I ordered the 5 1/2 foot. The rail that attaches to the camper is 66 inches, The material width is 61 inches and where the arms attach it is 68 inches outside to outside. I offset mine to the one side where the window slides open for a little better rain protection rather than center it. You have to mount it really high so when its pulled open you can still see under it. Good luck with your search.

Window awnings and you can leave those out when the wind is blowing pretty hard,and most have two places for the strap to connect so you have a choice of how much pitch you want

Thanks everyone for the great ideas!! I think our first choice would be the louver vents from Maxxaire, but they aren't available on Amazon...hopefully we can find them online somewhere👍

have you considered a shade material to cover the glass and screens?
We have coolaroo shade screens on our windows to reduce sunheating to the glass. It also acts as a screen barrier to keep rain out.

If your windows slide open from side to side, you can buy window louver vents ... Bought from camping world ... Allows you to open windows about 4" and rain doesn't come in ...

You have two choices;
1) close the window
2) you can get stick on gutters and put them above the window and wrap the gutter around the top so the water goes down the wall
and you still will get water in the window using above.
