LCI Panel Generator start

I have a 17 3011 DS with a LCI Panel. To start the generator do you hold the on button for about 10 seconds to prime it or the generator icon. It takes about 4 or 5 times to start it to get it running. I am thinking I am doing something wrong.

I hold mine almost 2/3 rds of a second after the light comes on, then hit start. If its warm out it usually starts on the first try. Cold weather usually takes 2 trys.

Hold button down after light comes on for 2/3 min. Then push top start button. Repete if necessary!

I must have a different panel than y’all. When I select “Generator” from the main menu on the panel it shows a green Start button. I touch the button for maybe Ĺ second and the center icon shows “priming” for 3-4 seconds, then “starting” followed by “Running” after that. During all this time and after the generator is started, the green “Start” button icon changes to red “Stop” button.

At some point during every day you suddenly realize nothing else productive is going to happen the rest of that day. For me, it usually occurs around 9 am.

That automatic stuff is nice but not like an old fashened rocker switch that you control. That's why you may have to try 3 or 4 times to get to start. Wait till other other operations start acting funky with the panel. Reading other posts on the forum, I like all my manual switches.

I checked the generator start function using my LCI tablet. Once I pressed start on the tablet, the generator primed first then engaged the starter the same as if I had held the rocker switch on the generator to prime and start.
I found no need to hold my finger on the tablet as I would the rocker switch.

A separate issue is the choke linkage on the generator hanging open and causing a non-start sequence. I've found it necessary on occasion to open the access panel on the generator, move the linkage back and forth and lube with a little WD40.

X2 to manual switches. Life is getting way to complicate unnecessarily.

The operation of the One Control is as Kirk stated. Iíve seen the same issue with the choke linkage. Free it up and it will typically start with a few second touch of the start icon.
