LED awning lights failing

Hi,

On my 2014 3050S with factory installed awning LEDs, after each winter bulbs have failed, to the point that nearly half are not working.

Has anyone else seen this? I'm thinking I'm going to have to research part numbers and replace them, but not if they are just going to fail again during NE winter freezes.

From this forum it seems that is a common problem. If your awning lights are on the body, I would change them out to a led strip that you can get on Amazon. Use some 3m double sided tape to stick them to. I think they are just as good if not better then what the factory is puttin on. You can get a 16' roll for like 9.00 bucks or so. If they added it to the awning roller I would still pull them out and attach them to the trailer wall. I have had them installed going on 3 years no problem still 12v. I bought an extra roll and controller which comes with it. You can cut them every third light and solder them together also. FR did not start putting them in until everyone was starting to use them Check Amazon. Get the 5050 with remote and water proof. Where you make the cut put a dab of silicone to keep them water proof....

You cannot replace them individually as they are not bulbs. They are diodes. FR may replace the entire strip even if out of warranty as they seem to be defective

Rockwood...what 3m double sided tape did you use? My LED strip is 3/8 wide and the only 3M stuff I could find was one-inch. If you used the one inch did you put it on the strip first and trim the stickey stuff? I could not find an easy way to cut the 3M stuff while it was still on the roll. Thanks!
