Leg room question TS 2390/TS2380
Hi- I am seriously in the market for a transit chassis motorhome. I test drove a 2014 Winnebago Trend, but there was absolutely NO legroom or ability to stretch your left leg, let alone right leg. I don't know if the later models have more leg room. Having said that, I have also been looking at the Forester and Sunseeker.
I really like the TS 2390 and TS 2380 and have read the posts here comparing the two models. I'm also inclined to get a gas model, rather than diesel.
The question I have- I'm 5'9 and have a Honda CR-V and can extend my left leg so it is almost straight when I'm driving, and also can pretty much fully extend my right leg. I have not found a TS2390 or TS 2380 near me to check out the leg room, and am hesitant to put an offer on one out of state without knowing more about the leg room issues.
Can anyone answer this for me? Is the legroom going to be as limited as the Winnebago Trend?
And also, I notice there are TS 2390 and TS 2391 models, but could not figure out the difference, looking at the specs on RVUSA.com
Anyone with a 2018 or 2019 TS 2380 or TS 2391 in Central Coast, Ca who would let me sit in the driver seat to check out the leg room?
Thanks in advance.

The TS2390 is a Sunseeker, and the TS2391 is a Forester. Those are sister product lines with minor trim differences. Leg room will be the same on either one.
A Transit cab is a Transit cab, but legroom can be limited if there is something in the coach behind the driver seat, which limits the ability to put the seat all the way back.
I agree that the 2390/2391 is a nice floor plan, but strangely, Forest River has dropped that model from the current lineup.

Thank you very much. I could not figure out the difference between the 2390/2391. After doing more research/comparison, if the Coachmen 200CB Ford transit chassis is the same - there is a lot more leg room than the Trend. Now the daunting task of FINDING one!!

Head for your local Ford dealer and sit in the cab of any Transit 3500 and that will give you a feel for the leg room. I'm 5'10" and had no issues. Driving 500 miles a day was an easy drive with it.
We had a Sunseeker 2390 and the issue with that floor plan was the shower was almost unusable. It was elevated well above the main aisle and more than a little tricky to get in and out. The 2380 / 1 replaced the 2390 / 1 rearranging the usable space to a more friendly floor plan.

The 2380 looks like an improvement, but what I couldn’t understand when I saw one was why there are NO cabinets in the bedroom. It would make so much sense to have a row or two of cabinets near the ceiling, like you would often see above a bed. The CCC is 2215 pounds, so it’s not a weight issue, unless it’s specifically a rear axle weight issue. I guess if I bought one, I would plan on building some cabinets.

We have a 3011DS Forester and we ordered the power drivers seat, it gives you a lot more leg room than the swivel seat.

That may be true, but your 3011DS has an E450 cab. This thread is about leg room in the Transit cab. The Forest River brochure says that a power driver’s seat is not an option that can be ordered from Forest River on the Transit based TS series, Sunseeker or Forester.

The response I received from FR on that very question was that the "hall closet" they added in the 2380 had more cabinet space than the 2390 so there was no need.

we did drop the 2390/91 from our line up an replaced it with the 2380/81. the front of the cab is the same on both models. We changed the bath area, putting the shower inside the bathroom and storage area giving more usable storage space.
I hope this helps

Thank you. Is the chassis the same on the 2390/2380 as the Coachmen 200CB? There is plenty of leg room in the Coachmen 200CB. The stats on the Ford transit chassis indicate the same leg room as I have in my Honda.
