Lift assist for the bed..3010DS

I have a 2015 model 3010DS. One of the mods I want to do is adding some kind of lift assist for lifting the rear bed up and getting underneath. In the past, I've used gas struts and a simple4' 2x2.

On this one, the bed is on a slide. What makes it difficult is that the mattress and plywood slides but the bed base does not.

I had thought the easiest solution would be to just use a 4' long 2x2 prop that could be removed each time. However, to keep the top from sliding I needed to attach a small block on the underside of the plywood that the mattress sits on. But, cannot do that because it will hit the bed frame when bringing the slide in..AND...moving the block enough so that clears puts it too far down..

Just wondering if anyone had any creative ideas that I hadn't thought of?

I had an idea in my head of something akin to car hood spring hinges that would mount in a slide on the base but haven't been able to really come up with a workable model..

Not sure i fully understand but is it as simple as instead of mounting a block of wood on the bottom that would catch the frame it instead cut out some sort of notch for you 2x2 to catch but not get hung up... think flush mounted insert not outside block..

assist cyls

I moved the hinge back 2' from the wall and tied both plywood pieces together making 3/4 of the mattress base lift. I called the factory where my previous 5th wheel coach was made and had them to send the same as what was on the trailer and installed as on the trailer. The air cyls. were 115# with 8" stroke. I did not have to notch the 2 X 2's.
