Lighting mystery

I have a 2016 2401WS w/ Mercedes Sprinter 3.5. I had occasion to rent a trailer from Uhaul and everything went well but when I turned off my lights after disconnecting the trailer the running lights, tail lights & license plate lights remained on, but headlights were off. I checked the trailer connector to see if any of the pins were damaged on adapter or connector itself but everything looked fine. I had to disconnect both house batteries and the chassis battery to get the lights to go out. I don't even know where to start to troubleshoot this...a fuse maybe? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What happens after you reconnect all the batteries? Do the lights come back on?

Do all those lights come on when you open the cab door?

MBS units built in that time frame have a lighting interface board, with a Curt controller, that controls all the rear lighting. See This Post for more info, it may help you address your problem. I also suggest you post this problem in the Mercedes Benz Sprinter Chassis forum as you'll probably get faster answers....
