Little Black Button?

On the dash of my 3011dsf above the USB port is a black plastic button... it doesn't do anything, so I pulled the cab/plug off, and it appears to be a mini jack.
I tried a MP3 player but could get it to connect.
Was this disconnected when the After market radio was installed?

My RV dealer, during the PDI, said it was the temperature sensor for the cab climate control. Bwah, ha, ha ha!

I understand it is a port for connecting to the stock Ford radio, but since that radio has been replaced, it doesn’t connect to anything.

This question is asked frequently. Here is one of many past threads on the topic: https://www.forestriverforums.com/fo...on-199541.html

It’s usually best NOT to believe what a guy who goes by the name of ‘BehindBars’ says, but in this case he’s right.

I believe the OP is asking about the push button ABOVE the USB port.
I guess it's not a button at all but simply a cap... correct?

Correct. Just a dummy cap (not a button) for OEM aux to Ford factory radio, which most if not all RV units have replaced.

Sadly that black button comes from Ford and doesn't work on anything we install. The good news is the new Ford dash doesn't have the little black mystery button

Some guy on one of the forums told his kid, that the last kid that pushed it, is no longer anywhere to be found.

The kid told his dad, he didn’t believe him.

Okay said his dad. And you were probably too young to remember, but you haven't always been an only child.

I ran across a picture of a dash on a small bus on an E450 cutaway and there was a microphone jack and microphone there for telling those in the back to "sit down and shut up"
