LP quick connect

Do the Foresters have an LP connection for grills even if they didn't come with the optional grill with quick connect? Somewhere, with the correct connetors and regulator, we could us the onboard LP tank instead of a portable one?

What type of grill are you planning to connect. The LP system in RV ( all after the regulator at the tank) is low pressure and all devices connected to it must be designed to work at low pressure ( no regulator). Your post implies that you are considering a grill that requires high pressure when you say "not connected to a remote tank). All appliances that connect to a tank ( either small 1lb Coleman tank or 20+lb RV tank) have a regulator and will not work on the low pressure available from the Rv system unless modified. You can purchase 5lb tanks that work well for a grill/stove and are light and take up little room. Another is a Tee on your tanks before the regulator and an extension to the grill/stove.

Thank you for the quick reply. We were thinking of making the necessary mods so the high pressure grill would work on RV low pressure. Just wasn't sure where to look for the connection underneath. Our LP is a large stationary hold tank that is filled at a LP station. No where to "Tee" it like in our last unit. Thought it made sense not to carry portable tanks since I already have a boat load onboard. ☺️

You can but a kit to make the mods - it is here https://www.amazon.com/Camco-59123-P.../dp/B0014JG7RQ - I am putting mine on this weekend, seems pretty straight forward - just check for leaks!

Not sure what you meant about "make the mods" but if referring to the mods the the OP wants to make, (if he doesn't get a low pressure disconnect) that kit won't work. That kit keeps everything high pressure. The OP also indicated his 'stationary' tank isn't easily tapped into like a removable tank.

Maybe you meant something different than what I concluded.

I was under the assumption that he wanted to run a grill from the main tank, which if the grill has a regulator the extend a stay works well. Maybe I did not understand what OP was looking for.

Could be. It's very possible I misunderstood too.

At least he has options either way!

I think the op is asking if the Forester comes with the low pressure disconnect from the factory if the outdoor grill was not ordered as an option. I was told when I purchased my unit that it did not come with the disconnect unless the outdoor grill was ordered as an option. The disconnect is part of the grill option.
