Maiden Voyage

Just returned home from a 5 day maiden voyage. I’m going to call this one a glowing success. The GTS 2800QS performed at a level much higher than expected. The quality is markedly improved over my 2014.

There was only one “rattle” which came from the dining table. Cured by lowering the top during travel. No slide squeaks or clunks.

Aside from the AC/Heat pump unusual functionality ( going to get that looked at in the morning). There were only a few minor defects.
One defective drawer latch.
One missing screen spring clip.
A cracked headliner moulding in the cab.
THAT’S IT!

So the coach build is excellent! Well done and Thank You to all the folks that built this unit.

The “add-ons”:
Super Steer Trac Bar fixed the tail wag issue. We drove home in 25 mph crosswinds and I never got blown out of my lane.
The Progressive Ind PMS HW-30C worked perfectly and we were easily able to manage our power consumption. Coffee pot, AC, Hair Dryer, Water Heater and all the little amp eaters and we never pop’d a breaker.

Level up was put to the test as well. Our site was so bad that we had to block both fronts and the right rear to keep them from getting airborn. This was new concrete at an upscale RV park in Brooksville FL! Another Knuckles McGirk engineering marvel.

Compartment locks with caps gave me some peace of mind when we were gone.

The Wastemaster system worked fantastically. I especially liked the “poo view” collar as it made it easy to see when the flush was complete.

The 5 star was excellent. Smooth shifts, plenty of power and 8.357 mpg on our first tankful in heavy quartering headwinds and towing our Smart. I’m thinking that we might see a 10+ with favorable winds.

At this point I don’t think I will be adding any additional upgrades to the chassis.

Happy Trails,
Ducky

Thanks. The caps came from Locking Systems:
Dust covers and )-Rings provide cam lock protection
They were $1.00 a copy. Work great so far.

The locks were a ebay tailored auction.
Just write to motif2014 and he will create an auction for
exactly what you want and send you a link to it.
His custom auction had a lower price too!
Just be sure you are ordering the 2 key pull locks.

Awesome thank you. Did you get the rubber o-ring that goes behind the lock as well?

No. The dust cap replaces the o-ring and the OEM locks have gaskets that go behind the finger tabs. Had heavy rains yesterday and drove in the rain as well. No leaks.
