The third issue is the units cost. At around $600 these are not inexpensive... Mine was a present from the DW so I'm not going to complain.
Recently added one of these myself - $558 for the carrier plus the wheel and the tire ran around $800. I think well worth the investment! Personally I had 3 flats on my previous motorhome (a Solera) in the past 6 years and the last thing anyone wants to do is be stuck w/out a spare. Fortunately I have no rear slide so don't have that issue.

I wish I was as handy as others ... everything looks good. We took the Forester out for our maiden voyage two weeks back and yesterday I dropped it off at CW with two pages of warranty work. Mostly small stuff ... did have a leak in the bedroom ceiling vent.

I'm not particularly handy....just persistent....and I buy a lot of Craftsman tools to try to "fix" things... Just ask my DW... But definitely keep the kids away when I'm working though as sometimes I drop back in to Platoon Sergeant "speak" describing the family heritage of the folks who design this "stuff". Everyone in Elkhart associated with those cheap wheels covers should have been wondering why their ears were burning this morning...
This morning my new TPMS showed a leak on my LR inner dual...again. I re-inflated it and went back to the tire shop. They found two leaks actually; a nice screw in the tread and a slow leak at the TPMS sensor. I'm beginning to think that tire position is nothing but some seriously bad ju-ju... At least I know the TST 507 works as I programed it.

Hi all,
Had a great weekend camping and the 2801 has been awesome. Last week I had my bathroom vent open and we had a surprise thunderstorm while I was away from the RV. I returned to find every inch of the bathroom soaked. That was enough for me. I purchased an Aero-Flo vent cover made by Camco. I was up on the roof today and install was very easy. Four clips and done. (PIC 1). While I was up there I finally installed the Siphon 360 waste vent I had purchased. That was just as easy an install. . Old vent came off super easy and new one on in a few minutes. (PIC 2,3,4).
I wouldn't classify the next three things mods but things I added this week. A glow bowl toilet bowl light, lol I love it (PIC 5), a small throw carpet in front of the recliners (PIC 6) and an ultrasonic pest reseller to keep the mice at bay (PIC 7).

Where did you get that garbage can in the bathroom? I also use a similar mouse thing in that spot.
Filled a spot where the storage compartment was separating from the outside wall (behind passenger side dully) with black silicone , as instructed by the body shop that does the warranty work. Now I see it has pulled away from the silicone. It really needs screws to pull it in. I am not sure what to do with it now, if nothing sticks to silicone. Another space for rodents to enter.
The glow-bowl runs on two batteries and is motion activated when it's dark. . The garbage can is a Camco cabinet mount trashcan. It costs about $17 on Amazon. It's a perfect fit in that spot.
Did the storage compartment pull farther away from outside wall or did the silicone just not adhere.?

I think it pulled further away. The storage piece is slightly too small for the body. There is a huge amount of tension on all of the screws on the sides.
When my wife attended a Drivers School seminar at the F.R.O.G. Rally the instructor asked how many folks are planning on visiting Canada. When my wife raised her hand he asked her if she knew our rigs weight and height in metric terms. That answer was a quick No... So I created this chart off the Sunseeker GTS specs page. It should be close enough for Foresters as well....but definitely check my math! I always rounded up....
And to add a little bling to the post I've also attached a picture of our GTS pulling our TOAD at a I-75 rest stop....

Today I had new one piece steel valve stems installed in the rear duals. These are from duallyvalve.com Part Number DL1FC. I had a set of these on our MBS and they solved both the slow leak and mounting a TPMS sensor issues. I have a TST 507 Flow Thru system I haven't reinstalled yet. And I need to dig out the hubcaps as well....

Around how much did that cost if I might ask to have the valves stems installed? Adding TPMS might be a 2017 option for us.
$64.00, with tax and fees, to install the new stems and do a balance on the rear four rear wheels. This is around a $200.00 project. But after dealing with slow leaks, not being able to air up a tire, or mount a TPMS sensor on the OEM junk extenders it was well worth it to me....

Did you have to enlarge the holes on the stainless steel wheel covers? I had to on my old Winnebago, as the J valve prevented mounting it.
Yes, I'd already enlarged the holes on the covers. I originally had "cap style" TST TPMS sensors. They would not even begin to fit without cutting the covers. While at the F.R.O.G. Rally I "upgraded" to a new TST system, with flow thru style sensors, which might have fit without any cutting.

A totally unexpected mod today. Cleaning my workshop and I came across a "White Night" light that I purchased about 8 years ago. Still in it's box never used. It is a light that mounts to the 2 inch hitch receiver and gives you two 55 watt halogen lights when backing up. The center has a removable cap which still allows use of the hitch.
Now not wanting it to go to waste I decided to put it on the RV. It's a simple 3 wire installation that uses a ground, a 12v power and the reverse light wire. It has a switch on the back that lets you put it on manually, turn it completely off or auto mode which allows the lights to come on when the RV is in reverse. I'm sure it will help when backing at night.
