We have a 2015 3010 in a Ford. My camera intermittently would go out, so I had to check the multiplexer. Remove a panel behind the steering wheel and you’ll see it in that area. Mine was just dangling. Turned out my camera was bad after buying a new multiplexer.
I have a 2016 3011 and at the start of my current trip the Backup camera was only B&W and switching to/from side camera's was very slow. When pulling into my current campground a few days ago it just quit and now only says no signal. The back of the camera and and cabling visually look fine so the problem may be with the camera or connections at the multiplexer and/or may a bad multiplexer itself. Problem is, now I can't find the multiplexer. Its not behind the dash on the driver or passenger side but I wonder it its under the dash near the radio?
I pulled off the panel under the steering panel and did find the multiplexer tucked up underneath. You cannot see it unless you pull off the panel. Powered up the system and the back up camera is only working in B&W again...but working. Changed the feeds and the problem does follow the camera. It's probably on the way out and will need to be replaced but I wonder if at the excessive heat might be the reason it's failing as it's been hot and sitting in the sun all day. Thoughts anyone?
