Need Reflective Tape on Bumper

Since our 3011ds (2018) has brown full paint, it cannot be seen easily when parked. We tried installing reflective tape on the (rough surface) rear bumper. Next morning, the tape had fallen off. How have you gotten reflective tape to stick on bumper? We donít want to put tape on camper shell.
Thanks,
Dave Allen

I've had no problems with the reflective tape on my rear bumper...been on there almost four years now!

Got it at Walmart in the Auto department near the trailer hitch stuff.

But, why not stick it on the camper wall...no different than a bumper sticker.

I've also installed the tape on the front and back of both big slide-outs (front and back).

My bumper is not a rough surface. Did you clean with alcohol first? Also best to not apply it when it's cold as it really tends to not stick then.

I put mine on the camper.

Clean the surface well, and after applying the reflective tape is a hair dryer to heat the tape and set the glue.

Apply 3M DOT red/white tape to the body just above the bumper line if you want viability. It will stick there. Mine's been on for 10 years. While you're at it put the inverted L tape at the upper corners.

I am a big believer on putting it high enough to see (ie the wall).

Problem is that if you put it too high it won't reflect much back...if at all.

Guess you have never followed a semi-trailer with reflective tape on the upper corners of the rear doors or noticed how high signs are above the road.

Disagree with this.

Have you ever used this tape? Quite useful stuff.

I even put it on our camp chairs so that they stand out when mixed with others.

3M "Scotch" brand isn't the only available, but it has great adhesive, and does what they say it will do.

Alcohol surface prep works wonders to make 'em stick.

Actually, Harbor Freight has good tape at a low price. Has held up well for over 4 years for me.

Conspicuity Tape

Here is a good explanation of DOT-C2 tape requirements in case you are interrested:
https://reflectivetape.info/what-is-...pecifications/

For best reflectivity in low light or off angles, consider a glass bead or microprismatic tape.

I placed a 12Ē piece on our rear wall, either side about 3 feet from the bottom. Same on front and back if our slide. Always visible and sticks great.

Or the new School Buses with the yellow reflective tape all over the place, even around the side windows. Yep, when the lights hit those, thereís no way you wonít see them

Tape

Get the DOT reflective tape from an auto parts store or tractor supply. Clean surface w/ alcohol, it will not come off. Come in two 3' pieces, $15. I have on my trailer and bike rack.
