New covered storage

Thought I'd share for those thinking about storing options
My Landlord (close friend)was kind enough to let me build this cover on his property.
Yes,I payed 2/3 of the cost and it's on his property, but It will pay for itself in outside vender storage cost in a little more than 2years and that value will easily transfer back to a more valuable Coach at trade up time.
We are going to put down gravel and I got two new tire covers for the Sunny side.Click image for larger version

Very nice, I'm wondering, why didn't you just bring the siding all the way down? Not criticizing, just curious.

That's a good question
Typically they do it this way for obvious cost savings because the low Sun barely hits that area
The Farm owner wanted it that way for his personal reasons and he did pay 1/3
I let it ride

That is very typical construction...even on the pre-fab ones you buy. Reduced wind load from summer and winter storms maybe ?

Nice to have a rig covered. My only comment is that without a rain gutters on the side where the two roofs face each other you are going to get allot of water. something to consider and easy to do.

Thanks for the response. Works for me.
And yeah, I see half walls like that all the time. Figured it might be a wind thing.

Good point
He is going to gutter the entire length of the Barn
Getting quotes now
His Live in Horse Trailer is stored on the other side of that wall and modifications to the drive way had to be made
He's motivated to keep water from collecting there
The whole project is sill going on

Curious on cost of this. I live on 5 acres and have wantes covered trailer storage for 10 years, but the cost of a big Quonset is huge.

My main thing is wind, since we get a lot of wind in Southern Alberta

New covered storage

We knew the Contractor and got a good deal
Pre fab metal was going to be
$4700 US
This one is over built and cemented in to match 3 other horse structures on the farm
(That's why the landlord had a big say in it)
$4500US

We are very fortunate
I have to keep two cars outside at my House
We have no place for anything in a neighborhood
We would like our own farm but this setup is really a Gift Horse
Pun intended [emoji6]

Eventually, 5 years maybe, We'll be moving and want at least 3 or 4 acres. Should work out well for us.
