New Forester/Sunseeker

Just curious on the recent changes to the outside trim, missing bumper and front cap on the Foresters/Sunseekers. I saw one the other day and it seems odd looking to me. Is there a reason they trim everything in black? I do like the front cap. I would miss not having the bumper.

The black trim is not very pleasing to the eye. Not sure why they did this. Product availability maybe?

FR told me via email "some white trim pieces are now black to avoid changing color" and "the new fiberglass bumper was for a better look."

From what I see in the brochures, the Forester/Sunseeker LE lines get the black trim treatment. It has also carried over into the new E-series based Solera product.

I personally don’t like the look at all, but maybe there is a market segment they are trying to appeal to.

Also, the low mounted tail lights and the missing rear bumper do not seem as practical or functional as what was done before. A lot of changes done lately on Forester/Sunseeker are not to my liking, but I already bought what I wanted.

Do you mean the newer motorhomes are coming with bumpers like on my 2018 Sunseeker 2430S-CD. (See photos)

Not exactly like yours, but the sewer hose storage bumper that was on 2019 and 2020 is gone on some 2021 models.

Picture attached is of a 2021 SS LE, I think.

I don’t care for the black trim. Or removal of bumper and the plastic toilet from the porcelain. Also the storage areas are getting smaller.

It’s a matter of personal preference, but I prefer the body moulded bumpers on the newer models, over the square black tube bumper. Kinda like todays cars have colour matched bumpers.

For sewer hose storage, I installed under chassis tubes to transport my hose(s), like in the attached photo.
Mine doesn’t hang any lower than the lowest point of anything else. The closer to the axle the better.

Where does the spare tire go?

The photo I attached previously of the white tubes, is NOT of my Sunseeker 2430S-CD, it was simply one I found on the internet.

My sewer hose storage tube, is secured to the chassis right beside my waste tanks release pipe, which runs across the entire width of my rig behind the rear axle. See photo.

My spare is secured to the undercarriage between there and the rear bumper.

That sounds better.

BTW, the picture posted is not a Forester or Sunseeker...it’s a fifth wheel trailer.
