New motorhome owner
Just want to say hey. Just bought my first motorhome. It's a 2002 sunseeker 30". I found this forum and am excited to find lots of good information.
Any good advice for a virgin owner?

New motorhome owner
We were just talking about tire blowouts
My first RV (a 2004 jamboree)
Tires looked new but were over 5years old
RV sat for 2-3 years
This is a recipe for trouble
One of the reasons owners drive the unit at least monthly (when not camping season) is to keep the tires pliable and prevent dry rot
If you are going down the highway and everything starts shaking hard
Pull over,a tire is about to blow!
Keep the water up in those coach batteries
Make sure you check the roof caulking and add self leveling Dicore right over any dry cracked caulk
I know it's obvious but make sure you never plug into 220 volt power supply
(Shouldn't ever be a problem at a camp ground but camping at friends or remote private locations is trouble cause your plug matches a 220
Had a sticky worn flush valve/peddle and toilet overflowed
Of course have fun and don't stress but these were the things that almost ruined RVing for us
We have road side assistance and an extended warranty on our new coach.
The dealer misrepresented the used coach
Our new FR 2860 has been a good purchase and our new dealer a joy to work with
Good Luck and have fun

You may already know this, but check your tires. If they are older Michelins, you may be lucky. They recalled over a million of the size used on Class C's and will replace them free. Look on their website and check your date codes. Don't forget to check the spare tire. It would be covered, too.

I believe he really meant "sanitize". Your owner's manual should give you step-by-step instructions on how to do this using bleach. You can also search these forums with the term "Sanitize" to bring up many threads.

I bought a gallon of a sanitizing product called Spring Fresh
Add directed amount and fill run faucets
Then flush and fill and flush
Good to go no Bleach odor
Good to go!

If you just use bleach and have a odor, or maybe there's a plastic odor from it not being used much, you can dump a box of baking soda in the tank and let it sit for a while. If you've already sanitized and flushed it, you don't even have to drain and flush the baking soda out. I pour bleach, baking soda, antifreeze, etc., into a 2 liter soft drink bottle, then dump it into my fresh water tank. The bottle's neck is a perfect fit for the fresh eater tank fill.
