New recall letter

Just got a recall letter (24V351/34-1780) for my Forester. It seems to apply to “some 2023-2025” models and relates to the LP line not being secured properly. Has anyone had the work done who can tell me exactly what/where the concern lies? I HATE trying to get a dealer to do service and I feel confident that I can personally check and fix the issue once I know what it is. I understand that it will be important to have the work “officially” done someday for resale but at the moment I just want to be sure it’s safe. I suspect the concern is the rubber hose from the propane tank hanging low and I fixed that with a zip tie the first week I had it.

I understand your position, but be advised, RECALL completions have to be reported to demonstrate that the responsible party has in good faith contacted all owners made an effort to apply the remedy. This info is reported by SN or VIN to the FEDS as completed. If your RECALL is not taken care of your after numerous attempts to inform you, it may be reported as derelict [non responsive], and it very well may be be at your expense to get it corrected. Just sayin'.

I too am interested. Here in SoCal most shops have a three month backlog, not looking forward to dealing with a repair shop doing a "forced" repair for peanuts.

I understand that it needs to be “officially” done but frankly most of the clowns that work at dealer service centers do just terrible work. I am motivated and skilled to do much better. I’ll get it officially done one day but when I do I want them to see and certify that there is no issue on my unit. I want to know what is involved. Appreciate your concern.

Here ya go: https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2023/F...RIVER/FORESTER

In the Recalls section click on Associated Documents. Those are various PDFs.

Happy Reading!

BTW, the Manufacturer Communications section may have some interesting things as well.

this recall was done because we had an issue with the flex LP line coming loose from the frame. it is a simple fix if your LP line is hanging off the frame. Just reattach with a clamp, but please take into your dealer.

I checked under my unit and noticed the hose wasn't properly secured. I have an appointment scheduled to document the recall, which the dealer said will take less than 30 minutes to fix. Fortunately, the service department is fitting me in before I leave on a long trip.

Another recall appeared here last week!

Many of several models of Cedar Creek and another brand of rv have some minor issue with the 7 pin wiring on some models. Thousands must be inspected.

The dealer gets 10 minutes to fix something. Could not tell exactly what. I could install a fuse in a few minutes.

However. It will cost me $100 in tv costs to visit the dealer at a minimum. He is 50 miles away.

Now twice?

The issue with the gas line is old. Mine was fixed by Amish rv.

Not so minor. FR installers wired one of the pins to the wrong side of the breaker and burned a few fifth wheels to the ground. A class action was approved. See this thread: https://www.forestriverforums.com/fo...45-280161.html

BTW, your profile does not show that you currently own an RV so I'm unsure if that is the recall you're talking about. But yes, an easy fix with basic DC skills.
