Occasional use an water system

When using the MH on a one weekend a month schedule, summer months, are there any special procedures necessary to keep the water system clean?

What about heat and humidity control of coach when parked?

As long as you are using chlorinated tap water I think you are fine, I have done this for years with no issues. If it is more than a month I would dump and refill the fresh water tank. I never re-sanitize during the season though, there is plenty of residual chlorine. If I was using untreated well water I would be more careful.

We keep our Forester at home and plugged in to 30 amp shore power.

I have a hydrometer/ thermometer to monitor the humidity and run the air conditioner or heat as needed throughout the year in south Georgia. We try to keep the humidity in the 45 to 55% range.

When we don't plan to travel we empty the fresh water tank and put the water filters in the fridge to hopefully inhibit mold growth.

We sanitize the tank and water lines annually. Probably overkill.

I leave my RV in storage in summer month's at a time in the hot summer but make sure to drain all the water. Every time i use is it i put a little bleach in the holding tank mixed with water and run it through the system just to freshen it up.

We also use Camco TastePURE Drinking Water Freshener. It is basically chlorine to kill bacteria. We have an in-house water filter that filters the water from the fresh tank before it gets to the faucets.

Not sure how bad humidity is in a Wisco summer, but in Maryland it is high. I use a 30pint dehumidifier with the permanent drain run through be floor. I have a wireless temp/humidity sensor in it and base station in the house. The need to drain your water or not will depend on the quality of the water supply. Chlorinated city water should be fine, however some well water can be problematic.

Ditto on hilling the filter. Our drained filter goes in the freezer while we are home.

while most of us have an inline or whole house water filter that tank water is going to pass thru when you fill it, the water sitting there in your tank for long periods is not going to 'go bad', as there's nothing to make it go bad...
but, also, unless you are drinking your 'old' water tank water straight, it's really a none issue - most any of us are only using it in the shower, the kitchen sink, or if used in the coffee maker, it's being heated enough to not be any issue anyway.

Thanks for all the answers, I think i know how to proceed on the water. Unfortunately we store at a remote lot with no power, I was debating if i should connected a solar panel and leave a vent fan under the maxxair cover venting all the time, vs just closing things up.
