Oil life monitor
Searched forum but couldn’t find a post on this topic.
Unable to reset my 2017 Sunseeker 3010DS.
Followed manual instructions:
Key on (not started)
Hold accelerator & brake
Wait for reset message
Nothing happens (no message)
Anyone have this problem?

I do not have an oil life monitor on my ‘17 E-450 chassis. My 2012 F-350 DD had one.

I guess mine doesn’t either. I was just going by the owner’s manual. Of course we know those can be pretty generic and not specific to the actual model.

Yes they are generic. In 2016 Ford went to a generic manual. The disclaimer is on page 5. For the Information Display look at the note on page 55 or 56.

The chassis manufacturer is the source of information. Appears to be Ford. There are Ford forums on line where you'll find many more folks than on here.

Same here...I just keep track of the mileage myself on a whiteboard in my garage for all my vehicles.

I made a free account on the Ford owners group https://owner.ford.com
Register your vin, dig around and there is a page to record when you service your vehicle. It will keep your records and give you the next mileage for service.

You are your own oil life monitor!
I make it easy on myself. Although our Canadian odometers are in kilometres, a simple way for all vehicles, is oil and filter every multiple of 5,000.
5,000 miles is pretty close to 8,000kms.............good for mineral grade oils.
10,000 miles is pretty close to 16.000kms..........good for synthetic grade oils.
The key is to change the oil and filter regularly.

I usually own and maintain about 20 engines at any given time. I just keep a written record, a simple chart that notes when all the oil changes were last done. I’m also able to track it mentally, to some degree. Oil change interval for my 2019 E-450 is 7500 miles (12,000 km), per the Ford manual. I don’t really care if the vehicle has a built in oil minder or not.

Several years ago, I started writing the date and mileage/hours on my filters with a permanent marker (sharpie) after replacing them. Then at a glance, I know when the job was done and the mileage/hours at that change. This is particularly useful on the tractor as it has no oil life indicator.
Granted, that info cannot be seen from the drivers seat, nor is it useful when you pay someone else to do the job. But for those who change their own oil, it's an easy way to check the numbers.
Our Sunseeker on a '15 GM chassis is simple to check, but the 2012 Canyon won't provide the info via the dash until it needs changed. Not sure why GM "engineers" didn't enable that bit of info, but they didn't on the first generation of Canyon/Colorado pickups. For me, glancing underneath at the filter tells me the story.
