One Control info

In January this year, we purchase a 2019 Forester 3011dsf. After getting it home we found out you have to go half way thru the Coach to turn on the lights. Which incidentally takes 3 motions for illumination. A little awkward in the dark. Note to mention you can not see the awning in operation from the panel.

My brother purchased a 2020 Forester 3051 and has a panel at the steps with buttons for lights, awning etc. (See pic).

My question is ... does the One Control system work as by RF or is the system hard wired?
I would like to acquire the small control panel for our Coach, but trying to figure out if it's possible.

It’s hardwired and can also be controlled by a phone/tablet. I fixed the lighting problem:

We have a 2020 3011 DS (built August 2019 and purchased December 2019) and it has the auxiliary buttons in the step well and in the bedroom, as well as the One Control touchpad near the dinette.

We could have sworn we also saw them in the several 2019 model year (labeled) units in stock we almost chose. Hmmm....

wuffwuff,

the pictured switch is a wireless battery controlled switch that we added in 2020. I'm trying to confirm if it can be retrofitted with 2019 one control system. will let you know what i find out.

The switches are wireless but need to be programmed to the main unit. One of my switch plates was not properly programmed. I was sent the instructions to do it by FR. It requires accessing the main control board which on my rig is behind the stereo, over my entrance door. I was planning on doing that while at camp this weekend.

One Control

Thanks for the replies.
emm-dee appreciate your link for a work around solution.

Kary Katzenberger, would appreciate knowing if it can be retro fitted and where to acquire the switch panel. Was going to inquire at the Frog Rally, but since cancelled I didn't know who to contact.

here is the Forest River part number for the wireless switch. I did confirm that this switch can be added to older forester units with the LCI multiplex system.

SMART RV 6 GANG WIRELESS SWITCH, MAIN ROOM F100111139

You should be able to order from a Forest River Dealer

This should help you program the new switch.

Reboot the one control. Easiest way is to shutoff battery switch for about 10 seconds with camper unplugged from AC

I notice that this wireless switch has the capability of extending/retracting the awning. Our 2020 Forester 3011 DS requires the ignition switch to be on in order to perform those functions via the OneControl, which is extremely annoying. Does this switch override that requirement?

I have the 2019 3011DS and it doesn’t require a key turn for one control or awning operations.

During a time period around 2018 FR couldn’t decide which was best...ignition on or off, engine on or off, etc. Mine requires ignition off for slide or awning operation. If the ignition is on the slide and awning icons disappear from view.

Ignition has to be on to retract the jacks and engine must be running to extend the jacks. I’ve been told that is due to high amperage draw during jack extension.

I have a 2019 Forester 3051 and the control panel is not operating. The touch pad is not responding and when I get to a function , i.e. awning it is erratic at best. The phone app does work but I am leery about heading out with out the pad as a backup. Our dealer, Meyer's RV cannot get me in till the end of September and we leave in a week for a trip to the races in Tenn. Can any one give me some advice or tips to fix this.

95implala, have you tried to shut the power off to the system (battery switch) and turne it back on to cause the control panel to reboot?

Do you have a touchpad in the bedroom?

First, use battery disconnect to remove power plus disconnect shore power. Leave both off about 30 seconds. Repower and when screen comes alive press the “reset” button. After reset, repeat the power removal step.

Last, use a damp (very damp, almost dry) cloth to clean the screen. Also, make sure your fingers are clean and dry when using the screen.

Actually, the phone app is more reliable than the wall units.
