Options-Forester 3011DS
Would you chose the smaller fridge and the pantry and the U shaped dinette or would you go with the larger 4 door fridge with ice maker and the regular dinette. I have to have the pantry space. I don't see anywhere else to keep food staples like cereal, canned goods etc without it.
We are just a couple with some larger dogs who will occasionally travel with a few friends and family. We would love the recliner option, but not sure we can do without the pullout bed in that spot for the times we travel with family. If anyone has the recliners and can speak to their comfort or the comfort of the sofa bed, that would be helpful with our decision as well.
We are hoping to order in the next week or two. Any other suggestions or thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks!

We have the 3010 with the 4 door fridge. With all of our other campers the fridges were always way too small. This fridge has more than enough room no matter how long our trips are. We store all non fridge food in the cabinets above the sofa. There's also the cabinet down below near the sink that holds spices and some smaller things. Most of the time it's just my wife and I, but when we have company you can't go wrong with the large fridge!

Thanks for the response. Do you also have the U-dinette? I've never had a U type. Do you like it?

We have a 3051S with the dinette and a pantry and the 4-door fridge-all standard on this model. We love the big fridge and especially the ice maker. Would never go back to smaller or to buying ice every couple of days.
The pantry is vital too.
Look at the 3051S. It's a really livable floorplan.

So jealous of the trip!! It's coming though. Bruce retires in a few short weeks. I'll still be working but hope to be able to work from the road some days.
How comfortable is the couch to hang out on at night and watch TV. We are used to our recliners. We are getting the rotating chair option as well.

We had to have the recliners. The couch is brutal to sit in longer than 5 minutes, which makes the couch good for only one thing. ... A pull out sleeping area.

We do have the u shaped dinette. It has plenty of room. Might sound funny, but the thing I like most about it, is that the table rotates to where you can get to the upper cabinets very easily.
You asked about the coach. I like the newer coach compared to the jack knife style, but it's still not the greatest. I would prefer recliners, but we do occasionally use it for a bed.

We had the couch for our 1st long trip, I he replaced them with a LZ Boy reclining love seat. This trip we love to watch TV in them, sometimes nap in them😄. As stated by another poster, the couch is brutal to sit in. Get the recliner option.

We have yet to take a trip in our 3011, but I fully expect to replace the couch after our first season. We decided against the factory recliner for two reasons. First, at the show they were not as comfortable as I would have liked. Second, there are a few aftermarket couch style recliners for not much more money that give you the option of folding up the middle section so that three people can be seated as opposed to just two with the factory recliner.

Where do you purchase the recliners that you can flip up the center section? When our brother in law comes to our house, he always sleeps on the couch even though we have beds so I'm thinking it could serve that purpose as well. Hmmm. Its a big purchase, big decisions. Nothing life threatening though thank God. These are the good decisions in life to have to make Thank you everyone for your input. Really appreciated. The main reason we like this floor plan is it seems to have the most floor space and room to move around if we have the 3 big dogs with us. We have dogs that have to be close to us or touching us at all times…lol

We got the LZ Boy reclining love seat. Doesn't have a center arm. It's not theater seating that come as a option. You can go to any L Z boy store and pick one. We got the James Collection. You will need to modify the slide floor to get full recline.

My wife and I just bought a 2016 in August model 3011DS and absolutely love it. Love the bigger fridge especially for longer road trips. Don't need a cooler for the extra food and drinks. We feel the u shaped dinette is much better than the normal dinette more room. We have a dog and 2 kids and find we have plenty of storage for our food without having a pantry. We looked for a year and several class C and loved the forester the second we walked through the door. We like the pull out couch feature but I know when our kids don't camp anymore we will replace the couch with 2 recliners.

Get the 3011 with the big fridge (you can always store non-fridge items in there...but you can't store fridge items in a pantry). Then get the regular dinette...if I recall, the regular dinette is smaller and you get a pantry in the slide then. Best of both worlds.

Rekwiat, we went with the Sunseeker 3010DS, Big Fridge, Recliners, U shape dinette. Power driver seat to aid in fatigue control and swivel pax seat for an extra coach seat.
Ours came off the line this week and will deliver to 3 way campers in Marietta soon. Remember, there is a ~12 foot long line of overhead cabinets on the dinette side slide for storage in addition to what you have on the kitchen side. An often overlooked feature of the U dinette is that it is longer in bed mode than the booth dinette is, if you need an adult size extra bed that doesn't involve a ladder.

Gidyup,
We have a 3011 with the same driver/passenger seat configuration as you;
"Power driver seat to aid in fatigue control and swivel pax seat for an extra coach seat."
Quick question, on the driver side power seat, does the joystick switch work in the opposite direction of what you expect? i.e. if you move it up the seat goes down?

They must of installed the Chinese module... <pause> you, know, other side of the globe..... It would be correct if you were in China....... Ok, I'm back. Sorry, but we haven't picked ours up yet.
I will add that to our PDI now, so thanks and I will let you know. Just guessing here, maybe there are a couple of screws that you can remove and spin the controls 180?
