Power awning stopped working
Only into year 4 with this unit and it seems the electrical is now failing.
Backup camera didn't work in the spring and now the power awning isn't working.
I can hear the motor click when I move the switch to the ON position but the awning does not extend. It's been doing it all summer but eventually will work. Now it doesn't work at all.
Has anyone tried to fix / replace the awning motor yourself? I've looked for info on-line but not having any success.

Don't know if this may be a solution, but have you tried changing the fuse for it or tightening the screws for the wiring to the fuse?

Have you pulled and looked at the switch itself ? Switch could be going bad...and it's easier to check than the motor.

What kind of awning is it? I just had similar symptoms on a Dometic 9100 Power awning.
Replacing the motor was fairly easy, just expensive at $300-400 for the motor.

I have had loose connections to the D.C. Control
Under right rear wheel well wher the wire bundles bolt to the back of the battery control box
Make sure these are tight
They can loosen over time and will create electrical problems.
Several of my leads got hot and started melting
It also affected my awning,
My backup camera also failed but was a camera failure
That was a whole other Can of worms because the plug in pig tail was hidden behind the wall and the whole back cap had to be unsealed and lifted
$850 camera swap!
Now the pig tail is relocated behind the right marker light for easy replacement if another failure in the future
Good luck

On another note
If my Battery's aren't full charged and I try to put out my awning with battery power only, the fuse pops
Full battery's,Gen set on,or plugged in to 30 amp the awning works fine

Took it to a local RV dealer. $800 later, the motor was replaced and it's now working. As the service guy subtly hinted in a nice way... if you can afford a $70K RV, you can afford a $800 awing fix.
If this one fails again after another 4 years, I'll look into converting it to manual. The convenience is not worth $200/year to me.

I'd love to see a cost breakdown for how they arrived at $800.
I replaced my motor. I paid $400 in a RV store because I couldn't wait for it to be shipped. I found them for $310 online.
The work to replace it wasn't hard, though having a second person with an extra set of hands helped. It was maybe 1 hour of work and that was figuring out what we were doing.
AND- I'm not mechanically inclined AT ALL.

All Canadian funds
Motor $575
Labour 1.5 hours $120
Tax $90
All in $785.35.
I looked all over and couldn't find any videos or instructions on how to change it so I gave up and paid someone. Maybe next time I'll try it myself. I see them on ebay for around $400 CDN.

The downside, that was an expensive motor.
The upside, that labor cost is only $80/hour which is a heck of a lot cheaper than the $100-125 I usually end up paying.
What make/model awning was it?

It is a Dometic 9100 series awning.
Thanks for the instructions. I could have easily replaced that myself.
I saved the pics for future reference that I hope I never need.
