Propane Leak

I have a 2013 Sunseeker 2860. Upon arrival at our campsite I found that all of my propane had mysteriously disappeared. I had the tank filled and that's when I discovered an open port on the bottom of the tank that was releasing all the propane. Camping World found a cap that we could screw in to stop the leak, but would like to know what was there, if anything, before. This is a non-portable tank and do not understand the reason for the additional port on the underside.

Bleeder/drain valve? It was ON the tank itself? Not a valve or add on?

This is the bottom of the tank. The fitting was added to stop the leak.

Sounds like the diaphragm relief valve to me. It looks a bit different than you might expect and is a brass fitting with female threads and a plastic cap in it. When it relieves, it blows out the plastic cap and might look like something is missing. You should have a little red and white safety brochure tied to the discharge valve or in the stuff you got with the coach that describes all the tanks features. If I'm correct I can't believe the camping world tech wouldn't know this.

Should have added to replace it and certainly don't plug it!

Sorry, I wasn't logged in when I first looked at this post and didn't see the photo. That's the relief valve and IMO definitely shouldn't be plugged.

Thanks to all. Now to get it fixed correctly.

I'd get it fixed soon. Even though propane tank explosions are very rare being without overpressure protection is not a good place to be. It would totally destroy the RV and everything in it and nearby if it is happened. Unless it was defective you have to wonder what caused the overpressure and blow the relief in the first place.

Contacted the manufacturer of the propane tank down in Mexico. It is a relief valve set at 312 psi. Sometimes I am amazed and what we can find out that service departments of RV shops cannot. I cannot get anyone to fix until warranty paperwork is completed. I ordered the part myself, but don't want to release the propane until the part comes in.
