Looks like the Trailer folks hijacked my Quartzsite topic in the Forester forum. Now we have digressed into classic cars.

Sorry Sagecoachdriver. I regret anyone hijacking the thread, It is just the snoring in the prior posts that led me astray.

No problem. I was hoping some of the Foresters and Sunseekers were going to Quartzsite, but I think they have all winterized!

Lowly Solera here (I know you didn't ask about us . . . &#128521, but I will be at Quartzite. I plan on staying at Scadden Wash with the Escapee Boomers. Arriving Jan. 11 and leaving on Jan. 26.

Wasn't there last year but in previous years the escape groups was south of I-10 along the frontage road about 2 mile east of town.

Scadden Wash is a14 day free area. It's parallel to I10 just a bit East of Quartzsite. I use my bicycle for transportation when boondocking, so I wanted to be in an area where it would be easy to get into town with the bike. Here's a link to a site which explains the camping choices: www.rv-camping.org/quartzsiteaz/

Picture taken from the desert east of town back toward town. All the white dots are RV's. Picture doesn't do it justice. You will have PLENTY of company Bob.

Great link, thanks!

We are headed to Q and expect to arrive by Monday or Tuesday of the show week. Based on what you wrote, I have some questions about the Scadden Wash area.

Bicycling into the show: how rugged is the route? How heavy is the motor traffic?

How bad is the freeway noise?

Will Scadden Wash likely be full by the time we get there?

Thanks!

Route to the show is hard packed sand for the first part, then asphalt as you get closer. Traffic isn't too bad if you get an early start. Freeway noise depends on how far back you want to go (bicycling becomes more challenging the further back you get). Noise from the freeway also dependent on how far you want to go, but it does get quieter at night (pretend it's a loud stream bubbling through the desert and not freeway noise). There are always spaces -- people come and go, also depends on how far away you want to camp. I'm staying with the Escapee Boomers and they'll probably be quite a few of us, but we try to give each rig a little space. 😁

After 3 weeks here, the I-10 noise goes away, and at this campground, I could hit it with a rock....now, there's lots of empty spaces....everywhere

Getting close!

Any more going? There should be many FR owners out there, but no pre-arranged rally point.
