Boatman22 where are you coming from?
Great info, we will be coming for the Houston area.

Sagecoachdriver, I don't think they have a dump station. There are 2 or 3 retail dump stations in town. They are big operations. They will also sell you drinking water fills. The office at Rice Ranch can point you to them.

We went in full of water and with empty tanks, and after close to a week we were low on water and high on waste. But we drove onward to our next stop, which had hookups.

Snowman, did we chat while up there last January, are you from Illinois?
You haven't mentioned whether you are coming this year or last time was enough?
I recall chatting with CreativePart, but he only made it to Tucson from Texas.

I think we were both on the thread you had last year, but we did not meet. We are from Illinois. We would go back, but this year is up in the air for now.

I does seem like a many more trailers and 5er's are going that Class C's. Haven't heard from any Class A's, but then my Title didn't mention them either.

I asked the DW if she wanted to go back to Quartzsite this year. She replied only if we go with friends or we meet up with a group. I think she's getting bored with me. Since retiring 2 years ago, we are like attached at the hip. So, who's going?
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I believe we're going to attend if the weather cooperates (surely it will). We have a new Forester (we traded in our 10 yr old Revolution) which we're anxious to try out. We've heard good things about our Forester and want to put it to the test. We'll tow our Mini so we have alternative transportation. We're new retirees looking forward to this and our new lifestyle.

Getting closer, any more going?

Only a month away now. Anyone else planning on going? Looks like my RV retirees from work are not that interested. So we are now a maybe. May use it as a stopover while heading east to Carlsbad Caverns. We've never been that way in winter.

Hi,

I plan on heading out from northern Illinois next Friday, weather permitting. I'm going to allow a week to get there, with a visit to a buddy near Nogales, AZ.

Even viewing all the YouTube stuff I can get my eyes on, I'm still not sure where I'll drop anchor to start. But hopefully I eventually will find somewhere I can get open air TV reception for the Superbowl. (grin).

Depending on your current weather conditions, we waited till we hit I-40 before the RV got de-winterized. That was in late January.

So excited, Quartzsite is just one week away. Can't decide whether to stay at Scaddan Wash or Dome Rock. The rest of our group backed out, except one, so we will just have 2 campers going. Any preferences??? We're coming from Phoenix. And we want to go to Blank Anyone been there???

We go to the Desert Bar every year we are in Quartzite. Be aware they do cash and checks only. No credit cards.

where do you stay in Quartzite? How far of a drive to Desert Bar? Is it fun enough to spend the day there, or just like 3 hours??

We stay on BLM land called Hi Jolly. Five miles north of town. I think 3 hrs is enough to spend there. That is about how long we spend there. The road ther is a dirt one and sometimes it is bad.

Hi,

I arrived yesterday, and have set up provisionally at Plomosa.

Having never been here before, I've got a lot of scouting to do. But as long as I can hold onto a good TV signal for the playoffs, life will be good. (smile)

FWIW
