If you do a search on here, I believe you can connect your radio to your TV antenna and get much better reception.

I have one of the 2012 and earlier model Jensen radios that seems to work fine on free radio. However I added satellite to it and rarely listen to regular radio anymore. Once you have satellite you'll never go back. It has a portable receiver head and can be moved from vehicle to vehicle as well as connected to a portable boom box that can be used in the house or anywhere outside.

Bad Radio Reception
Bad radio reception? Try grounding the radio. Don't know where your radio is mounted in your RV, but the chassis of the radio has to grounded.
If you can not receive any AM stations but spotty FM stations your antenna
for the radio is defective or the radio is not grounded. In order for the radio
to work properly the radio case (metal) has to have a ground wire run to the RV's metal body or frame. First to test to see (easiest) if the antenna is defective, just simply run a ground wire to RV's frame. The ground for the
radio's 12 VDC grounding is isolated from the chassis. A separate ground must be run!

This problem has been discussed here numerous times. If you have a class C, expect horrible AM radio reception on your cab radio due to the antenna being located under the front overhang. FM reception is not affected as much. Having had two Class Cs before ordering my 2860, I requested the cab radio antenna to be located on the coach roof, which was done for an additional cost. (I believe this is standard for the Solara). AM reception is definitely better.

Had the same problem, especially on AM side. Coastal RV in Carrolton, VA, young tech came up with idea to use the TV antenna on top and splice into radio, bypassing under front roof antenna. Works great and long, clear reception. Took about 1/2 hour and under $50 for splitter and wire.
