rain sensor on fantastic fan

The red light on the control panel for the fantastic fan is glowing red showing the rain sensor is off (I think). I thought maybe the sensor was dirty, where would the sensor be located ?

The slide button next to the light does not seem to slide one way or the other. No manual and the internet is no help.

It sounds like the rain sensor is dirty, the suggested action is to clean it with rubbing alcohol. As far as it location see the attached picture. The sensor is the brass colored strip in the lower right corner.

I looked for a Owners Manual .pdf on the Fan-tastic website but couldn't find one. Their Tech Support number is 800-521-0298 and is open 8-5 Eastern M-F....

I tried cleaning that part with a damp cloth, will try tomorrow with alcohol.

I was on the roof on time and the FF was open and running and I needed to turn it off. I didn't want to climb down to turn it off. So I wet my finder and touched the rain sensor. That did the trick and off it went.

Are you sure that means it off? My FF has the red light on since we bought it, another parasitic drain.
Checking the Fantastic Vent website, I found mine is the 7000 series. Of course, they post no manuals that I could easily find and none came with the MH. Again it's either thru this forum or experiment that we find out how to operate things in our RV.

Give Fantastic Fan customer support a call if you need assistance and don't forget their fans have a lifetime warranty. They sent me a new motor and fan blade for an eight year old fan free of charge. Another time I called to buy a new shroud because of a crack caused by tightening a screw to tight and they sent the new one free of charge. What a great company.
