? re scissor jacks

Has anybody used scissor jacks with them being mounted to the frame. I orderd a pair for our 2940ds, but received the wrong ones. When the correct ones arrive Im afraid I wont have time to install before our trip. We will be staying in multiple locations each for 7 days at a time. any suggestions are appreciated

Scissor jacks

I am interested in the responses here. I was told by our RV dealewr that they are not to be installed on a Class C so I have been lugging jacks in my storage compartment and it is a pain

My 3170DS had them installed by the local dealer when I purchased it.

I installed the husky jacks (6500 lbs) on the rear of my new 2015 3011ds.
I thru bolted them to the frame and use my portable drill to lower and raise the jacks. Works great

I swapped out my stabalizers for 24" scissors on my pop up.. it makes a world of differrence. Quicker to set up and more stable

Phelp...thanks. I am wondering why my dealer said no stabilizers should be put on class C.....I accepted it as fact but now it does not make any sense at all....why would a class C be any different than a travel trailer

Scooter, was this a sales guy or the head of the shop?
If 10 guys on this forum have done it successfully and
one guy says no, who are you going to believe?

It was the service manager....that is why I paid attention....However I am going to get them on because i am tired of pulling out the jacks in and out of the storage bin......plus the scissor jacks weigh a LOT less than the jacks I am using.......Anyone want an inexpensive pair of jack stands? LOL

Scissor jacks will be fine on a class c as long as they are installed on the correct part of the frame and used correctly. Installing them out near the rear bumper on the frame extensions will put stress on an area of the frame and coach body that will likely cause damage especially if you try to level the coach with them. The safest place to install them is where the factory hydraulics jacks would be placed and is the only place I have seen factory installed scissor jacks. The other issue is that they are manually operated one at a time (not like hydraulic jacks that are operated in pairs) and can put twisting stress on the frame. However if you are only stabilizing not leveling with them you should not damage anything.

Scissor jacks aren't made to level so, if you're lifting your class c at all with these you risk disaster. They work great for stabilizing though.
I bolted two near the back of our 3170 but I still haven't figured out a good front spot to hang a set. Like others on here, I just carry a cordless drill and they zip right up and down.
Sure beats the 5k price tag on auto levels.

I agree with howzball, mounted mine at the rear of our
3011ds. That was the only place I could find to install
them. The cordless drill is spot on.
