Please post the resolution so we all may learn. I especially as I have a 2014 3170 with only one roller visible. It is near the rear. Thank you.

No resolution yet

No resolution as of yet. Took to CW in Calera, AL. The pics show the cracks in the underside of the large slide. The black lines are each cracks 2 to 4 inches long. The screws at the bottom of the frame on each end are also pulling out when the slide is extended.

Shop manager said it was not too uncommon. Told me of an instance where it actually popped the head off the screw. Ours "pushed out" the bottom three screws on both the forward and rear end of the unit. The caulking around the seal pulled away from the siding. Shop manager siad they had put aluminum were the cracks afre showing.

We had the unit for ~1 year no mechanical issues. Really pleased. Hope this is a minor set-back covered by FR. We are within 1 week of the purchase date.

looks exactly same. Did you develop cracks under the bottom of slide?

To be honest I have not looked carried mine in for a bunch of small repairs I am kind of picky so they have had it most all summer but should pick up next week have trip planned to outer banks then mountains of nc but if I find cracks FR will hear about it for sure have you looked at the front of your headliner to see if it is hanging down an inch or so I haven't seen one yet that's not I have mentioned it twice on forum but apparently nobody is looking that close like me not checking bottom of slide but I have to lay down to see under the slide can't turn neck or look up very well broke neck in two places in 1998 hasn't worked well since

I just noticed your pictures of the cracks under your slide. I have a 2015 3010 with a crack under my kitchen slide. I posted them on here a little while ago and bclemens said it looked like I probably had something stuck under it and that caused it. Sorry to say there is no room under there to have anything jam up. When looking under mine when it's completely in you can see a thick metal structure that is maybe a 1/4" below the slide and I wonder if while driving if it's possible that it can hit it. I've sent pictures several times to the dealer and have not heard back from them. I'll post a picture here.Click image for larger version

Resolved!

Ok, I have a resolution to my original posted problem. Apparently the tracks (top and bottom) in the rear were a little dirty. They brushed them out and then applied silicon lube and the slide went out with no issues. Wow! It doesn't take much for this system to stop working.

To get to this resolution the following was performed:
- Checked for error codes, none
- Checked overall alignment, checked out
- Checked rollers, ok
- Checked voltage, ok
- Removed awning and slide out went out without issues so it was determined there was a little drag somewhere and they found the tracks needed lube.

I found that the Lippert people suggest using CRC Power Lube so I'll start using that on a regular basis.

I have a 2016 3170DS. The right side, bunkhouse slide does not go in all the way. It is about an inch away from closing tight like the left side does. It seams that it is hitting the weather strip seal evenly all the way around. Is this normal?

I have a 2013 3170, computer desk on rear slide. An RV repair place made the same observation about mine, thought it might be "off a peg" on the rack. Well, it goes in, and it's against the side (no gap) but the repair person thought it wasn't as tight as it should be. For now I'm not doing anything. But if you have a gap, might want to ask the dealer and see if warranty is available (should be, 2016 is pretty new....)

I just had mine rescrewed and resealed at CW for this kind of thing. I have a 2013 3170DS. I should have come here first before I let them monkey with it.

Did CW not do a good repair on yours?

An update on the repair to our swintek slide on our 2015 3170 DS.

The CW in Calera, Al did the repair. basically they re-caulked, put in bigger screws and "bondo'ed" the crack in the bottom. We had inside water damage due to the leaking. It took about 6 weeks for FR to approve the repair under warranty and about 6 weeks for CW to do the repair. yes, 6 months overall. We kept the RV until the approval -- getting in two more trips in the fall.

We have not been out yet in 2016 but will do a week mid-March.
Overall experience -- Poor

Took months for FR to approve.
Took months for CW - Calera, AL to repair. We had other problems with CW - Calera that i will post in another thread.

I am not confident the larger screws and re-caulk will solve the problem. Seems like FR has an issue with the swintek system. I will hold off judgement for next purchase but I am not too keen on swintek+FR at this point.

If you have only an extra 1/2" on the bottom it is the seat belt reinforcements. Look under the slide and there should be four pieces of steel, they will hit before the wall of the slide.

Those four plates have carriage bolts going thru them. When we first got our unit home, for some reason I looked under that rear slide and noticed that one if the carriage bolts was not seated all the way. So I went inside , loosened the bolt, turned it a quarter turn so it would tighten flush with the plate . Slide closes nicely and the rubber seal not stressed anymore.
