Rear tire Forester blowout in SC - time for new tires

Had my first on the road blowout on Rt 77 Columbia SC. Luckily right before an exit and limped into a Walmart parking lot. Sitting here waiting on Coach-net roadside assistance.

This is a 2015 3171ds. Is it time to replace all the tires? 26,000 miles. Tire pressures were all good this morning as I do check before starting each day.

On my way to the Florida Keys and now as you can imagine a little nervous about the rest of the tires.

If it's a 2015, it's probably got 2014 or older tires on it. That makes them around 7 years old and they probably need to be replaced based on age alone.

RV tires are notorious for having to be replaced because of age.....NOT mileage.
I’ll bet if you had a 2015 model year car, it’d have way more mileage because it’s driven daily maybe? RVs....trailers, 5th wheels and motorhomes.....are more often stopped or parked for much longer periods than being driven.

Do you know how to tell how old your tires are by the date code stamp on the sidewall......ONLY ONE SIDE of the sidewall.

Had same issue coming home Thursday inner passenger side rear 28,000 miles 2016. Thought I would get another 6 months and change at end of year. Replaced all tires was surprised on the dry rot staring on the sidewalls once tires were pulled off

We replaced all 6 tires in 2019. Mileage was at 20,000, the FORD dealer showed dry rot on the side walls. Our 3010DS IS A 2015 and the tread on the tires was like new. Glad we did it as I don't want to worry about the tires blowing out on the road.

See if you can get Goodyear Endurance.
You got every penny out of the original tires...time for the good stuff.

Side benefit, they have a higher speed rating.

They can be hard to find.

This thread is about tires on Class C motorhomes.
The GY Endurance is a trailer tire.

As noted, tires come with a replacement based on age. I've seen some recommendations that call for a professional inspection starting at 5 years, I take this to mean a tire off inspection to allow checking the interior of the tire. My Ford F-150 owners manual has the following about age:
In general, tires should be replaced after six years regardless of tread wear. However, heat caused by hot climates or frequent high loading conditions can accelerate the aging process and may require tires to be replaced more frequently.

I replaced all of my tires at 24,000 miles. Had Michelin ms2 blowout inner driver side in New Mexico. Put the spare on some off brand made in Mexico. Got me to Branson, Missouri before it blew. New tires are Michelin Agilis Cross Climate.

I would rather be safe than thrifty with my money. I recommend replacing the tires before completing your trip to Key West.

Does Carlisle make tires for a Class C motor home? That’s what is being discussed, a Class C motor home.

I’m at 9400 miles on 2014 chassis and tires(2015 3051) and my mechanic warned me today it’s probably time to think about new tires. Sucks with all the tread left but I knew this day was coming. Probably get them replaced next week, after our opening weekend that starts tomorrow at 3:00pm!

I replaced all 6 on my 2015 Chassis 3011 last month with Michelin Agilis Cross Climate. Just over $1,500 out the door. At 6 years old with 22,000 miles I was not going to take a chance. Tires were free, paid for by the tax payers.

Going with Kelly Edge AT’s. Just under $1200 installed for all 6. Anybody else use these on an RV?

I am in the same situation that my tires are cracking and will need to be replaced.. I think I’m going to put on Nokian One HT. Anyone tried these tires? I’ve had Nokians on other vehicles and thought they were excellent.
