replace factory mattress

When our RV arrives we intend to replace the mattress that comes with it. The upgrade from the dealer didn't impress us so we are considering one of the triple layer foam mattresses. We prefer a medium firm mattress and don't care for a hot sleep. What are your recommendations? What about the weight?

Slept on the mattress one night and we were miserable. Went to store next morning and bought another one.

Everyone likes a different mattress, it seems. The Serta mattress in our Forester is very comfortable for us...as comfortable as the $3000 new mattress we just bought for home. Everyone is different

Hard to make mattress recommendations when you don't know peoples sleeping habits. It's sort of like going to the store and buying your wife a pair of shoes and taking them home to her. If you know what I mean.

There are RV mattress options out there to fit anybody's needs. Most are competitively priced. We replaced our factory mattress with an 8" Cool-Gel Memory Foam from Walmart. $248.00 out-the-door. Sleeps better than the Tempur-Pedic at home.

I had two requirements when I replaced the mattress in my RV... short queen and firm. I bought this...

https://www.amazon.com/Zinus-Master-.../dp/B00JRHI1LM

I live in my RV seven months a year. Two years later, I still love this mattress. It's firm but the pillow top makes it ideal for an excellent sleep.

So after you bought your mattress you added a pillow topper?

We put a 4 inch memory foam pad on top of our factory mattress. Then bought a futon cover and put both in the cover. Been quite satisfactory for us.

Our 2012 Lexington came with an"upgraded" (yukyukyuk) Serta Pillow Top.
Lasted about two years, and we suffered with it for another year after that.
Checked around for gel top memory foam mattress'es. Found a great company on Amazon...Dynasty Mattress.
Bought a 10 inch Gel Memory Foam, RV Queen from them (price is $289.00), with free shipping for Prime Members. Thats almost as cheap as buying a quality gel topper and using it over your old junk mattress.
Best $289 we ever spent. Firm, but not hard, and after 2 years of use, it's still as supportive as when it was new. Our last trip this year was 13 weeks long, and no problem sleeping on it for that length of time.
A bit heavier than a standard spring mattress, but after two years the bedroom slide (where bed is located) works just fine. Maybe 20 lbs heavier.
Actually thinking of getting their King mattress for our home.

We bought a Trump Combover mattress at Goshen rally. It was very comfortable in our Rockwood we saved it and using it in our new Heartland Bighorn.

We went to a local Mattress Warehouse store and tested out a few. We found a standard foam queen size the wife liked but our toy hauler needs a short queen. No problem! When I installed the mattress I took an electric carving knife and cut off 6 inches! It might not have been the cheapest option but I will not cut corners on sleep quality!

We replaced our mattress, actually did not replace, but had the RV dealership keep the one that came with the TT so we would not have to dispose of it. We bought a 10" foam(triple foam layers) mattress from Walmart.com. We could not be happier. It is a very comfortable mattress and we were not too hot while sleeping on it in Texas during the summer. Cost was the $300 neighborhood.

Our Cedar Creek came with a Bellagio residential series king mattress by Serta®. It is quite comfortable.
