Rollover Class C - not Sunseeker

Newbee and not sure about posting links to Youtube and Liveleak videos.

Was browsing Liveleak and saw this short video clip from England I think. Shows a freeway from a dashcam. Suddenly a Class C type short motorhome goes whizzing by at high speed and begins to loose control. The driver I think may be over controlling and oscillations get wilder and wilder. Then off the pavement he goes. Then back onto the hiway and overturns.

I think he is driving too fast, but you can see the rear end seems to be driving the front of the truck. Maybe this could be very improper loading in the coach.

Maybe some useful information here about proper loading in the rig. I have a Sunseeker 2300 and did not realize Class C motorhomes were subject to these kind of loading problems like travel trailers are. Wow.

Looks like a typical single rear wheel Euro-coach.
If his throttle wasn't sticking...he is an idiot.
Probably tried to pass the 2 lorries on the right and lost it going too fast.
Remember- the right is the fast lane.
Downhill too.

Bad scene, whatever the cause. Article doesn't say anything about injuries, but driver got jail time. The barrier cables did their job and kept him from crossing over or this could have been a head on.

Looked like a typical over reacting counter steer when the coach drifted off the road surface prior to coming into frame. It all went to heck after that.
Not enough to speculate really. Could of fell asleep, or drunk, or too old with not enough senses to be driving.

We bought a Class C motorhome that was built on a Sprinter 3500 chassis. As it came from the factory, I considered it very dangerous to drive. Sudden dips, especially on corners in the road would send it wildly bouncing and rocking and throwing things around. I have used Timbren axle travel stops before on two pickups, and they made a big difference in handling, so I installed a set on the motorhome. They not only greatly helped the handling, but there was a big reduction in the sounds of creaking fiberglass when traversing street aprons and speed bumps. This should have been addressed by the manufacturer as a matter of safety, but I would highly recommend either this or air bags, or other stabilizing devices on this type of motorhome.

So here's the whole story. Nothing to do with an r/v issue. The operator was found to be DUI.

Doesn't matter the type of RV, or veh / trailer combo, you will always see an uneducated idiot driving at unsafe speeds while on the roadways ! No thought to their safety, the safety of their family onboard, or other families sharing the roadways !

The story also notes that he had two prior convictions for not providing a specimen, so it seems his earlier incidents did little to deter his behavior.

I don't know how your state handles it but a repeat offender by the third conviction in NJ & you lose your license indefinitely.
Pretty strict to me. Plus all the jail time, even upto that point is lengthy.
