They tow a vehicle from the factory when delivering your unit so they can return back to the factory for another trip. It is true they can't use your RV for anything including sleep. Check with the factory but everyone that I have ever spoken with says that is how it is done and the work at the factory is great.

Been there sort of

We had major leaks on our toy hauler It took about 4 months but we ended up getting a completely new RV. As far as the towing it’s a safe bet that when it was delivered to your dealer from the factory it was towing the drivers car. My neighbor does this for a living. He has a Dually and tows trailers and Fifthwheels from Indiana where just about every RV in the country is built to the Southeast U.S. he said that the driver type RV’s have couples that pick them up and tow thier personal Vehicles to deliver them.

We sold Holiday Rambler, Gulfstream and Fleetwood motor homes, A,B and C at the dealership I was General Manager of. In over ten years there, I never once had one come in with a car on the back, we always, Always, called a cab or took the driver to the bus station to go back home.

Wish I could agree with most of the comments, but our 2401W was picked and then returned from Indianapolis by drivers towing a car or small truck. I didnít expect it but it was our only option since FR wouldnít allow the repair of our slide by a local shop. In addition to towing their vehicles behind our RV the toads werenít equipped with brake controllers. FR customer service has been kind, generous, but in our case they did not fix the slide problem. They fixed other stuff but it took a year before we had the slide repair completed locally - and yes FR did pay for parts and labor. Regarding paperwork, the drivers will inspect your RV before they take it and upon return. Good idea to check it for accuracy, add the drivers name and company, and get a copy. The latter is sometimes difficult so you may want to take a picture of the document with your phone. Hope this helps. Good luck!
