Slide motor

I had to replace one of the slide motors on my 2018 3051 Forester because it was rusted out. The cost was quite high. I am wondering what I can do to prevent future rust of this component

Can’t help you on the prevention issue but wondering why warranty didn’t cover it?

Also wondering why warranty didn't cover it.
Also, just because there is rust on the outside, I wouldn't think it would affect the operation of it. Just curious.

Not under warranty because it only had a one year according to FR and we have owned it since Sept 2017. The unit rusted out the contacts and froze the motor. The motor is not covered under our forever warranty

Curious which "forever warranty" didn't cover your slide motor and how far out of your Forest River warranty you were when the problem was discovered.

Sounds like a blue dog sales tactic.
