Slide shade lock mechanism

I have a 2019 Sunseeker 2400WS. I noticed that there looks like there is a locking mechanism on the slide shade. Should this automatically lock when slide is retracted or do you lock it manually before you hit the road. Thanks.

The arm sticking out is called an anti billow arm. When your slide out room is retracted, if any wind blows under your awning the anti billow arm will rotate counterclockwise and act as a stop against the plastic piece which is screwed into your rv sidewall.

No lock is needed and as far as I know none exist for slide out room awnings.

Check your anti billow arms often. If attached with screws they are especially prone to loosening and falling off and the arms themselves are somewhat brittle and can just break and fall off.

I would recommend replacing the screws with pop rivets if you lose 1 or both the screws and also just replacing the arms if you get to that point. They are available on Amazon.

Hope that helps.

Chris

No sorry, I replaced mine last summer.

When you do a Google search on anti billow arm, you'll get a number of hits and places to order from and your dealers parts department can probably get them overnighted.
