The weather stripping worked some what,,, the rubber on the front side of the dinette slide is a mess,,, nothing seams to help that one,,, problem looks to paint on the interior part of the seal ??? I did also find part of the top was not properly rolling over,,, cleaned & wiped it with protectant,,, will check it next time we put slide out,,,
no sure how to ever check the top when camping,,, do not carry a ladder ???

Just checking in to see if anyone did the grip tape yet? If the weather is nice this weekend I was planning on doing it but was hoping someone would relay positive results first.

Slide seal

Didn't try the grip tape but did take three pieces of Velcro about 4" long and space out about 1' on 3' section 3050s finger like side up on Velcro worked perfect only had about 3'-4' that was sticking in the middle of slide

Weather stripping is working very well,,, except for front of dinning room slide,,, As I said that one has some paint on the interior rubber,,, which I believe is not letting it roll over !!! Next time I have the slides out,,, I plan to spray Rubber lube on the painted one ???

Tried both "soft" and "bristle" sides of the Velcro. Neither worked. Decided not to use the step grip tape as I don't like the way the granules fall off and also figured its roughness might wear down the rubber seal. Worried that actual weather strip would tend to get pried loose by the seal hitting it on edge since most weather strip is designed to be compressed/squished rather than have the edge of that seal hitting/digging at it trying to flip over. Sanded the edges of a wood yardstick to make them smooth and rounded and threw it in the storage bay. Quick, cheap and easy. Done, done & done.

Slidout Rubbers ???

Resurrecting this thread. I saw a Heartland TT at the campground and there they were. This is what is used to flip the seals. Now, I have searched the Internet, Lowes, Ace to no luck. I am posting the pictures hoping someone has found such an item.
A small strip1/2" to 3/4" wide with a small 1/8" lip about 6 inches long. More eyes looking might net something. Photos were taken with permission.
I think 3 or 4 strips will be necessary in the absence of a window.

I found this quote.

"All, I contacted Heartland for the slide out seal flippers. The part number is 31107, and is $1.377 a linear foot, + shipping and handling ($9.10 in my case).

It comes with an adhesive strip on the back and cuts easily with kitchen scissors. I applied 1 ft long strips on each side of our 4 slides, about 2" down and 4" back from the outer wall of the slide. Will see if they help, immediately it looks like they will."

We have the problem every time the slide goes in and out on the drivers side of our 3171. Just found some auto trim that should work from our local PepBoys.
