Slingbox

Has anyone tried slingbox in their MH? It claims to deliver all the same broadcasts one gets at home. Seems like a good idea if it works. Cheaper then satelite.

The problem with Slingbox, as far as I'm aware, is that it requires a high speed internet connection. Most campground WiFi is slow or inaccessible to most of the sites. Most cellular Internet plans will eat up your data pretty quickly with watching TV on it (unless you're one of the few hold outs with an unlimited data plan- but even that, the carriers often throttle speed after certain usage within a month).

We have ripped most of our movie collection and carry it on our iPad and watch TV from there.

I use a sling box since I travel so much. My home DVR records the shows...I pull them up while on the road to watch college basketball and football that is regional.

It is NOT a replacement for a TV. Fast forward, pause, rewind are terrible with so much lag. Also, I am always in an area where there dis high speed. As ependydad says, it uses a ton of data.

I was trying to find a better way to watch local sports, such as the Braves. Sounds like satellite still best option.

I use the sling box to watch local news for the most part when I'm away from home. I also connect my Samsung phone to the TV. Kind of amazing to watch home news on TV from across the country.
