solar should be pretty much self regulating and you won't have to do much the main maintenance is that you keep your batteries in good condition.
check the fluid levels if you have flooded Lead acid battery.
Keep the panels clean and avoid too much shade...
Unless you put a lot of $$$ into solar the most your panels are going to do is to prolong the charge of your 12v battery.
if you are away from the trailer .. it will keep your battery fully charged as you are not using a lot of battery power.
Just make sure you turn off as much as possible
If you have a 12v fridge .... it uses a lot of power so you need to be more careful
before you leave home... plug in the shorepower and get the fridge cold at home
If you are power hungry you can add more panels... the portable ones are good because you can find a sunny spot to put the panels.
Do as much reading as you can and learn about getting the most from solar BUT don't be upset if you have to use the generator ....
