Step adhesive

The glue on my second step rubber pad has basically liquefied. now the pad slips with every step. The old glue is a honey like consistency but does not hold and the old OEM screws just pull through the rubber

suggestions?

Step adhesive

The glue is really a silicon adhesive. Mine got really tacky nasty, so with some patience and mineral spirits , cleaned it all up and used the 3M auto trim double sided tape to hold everything in place. Did not take a lot of tape. Worked for me.
The inserts for house entry mats, the inserts, one can change, are almost a perfect fit to sit on top of the rubber treads to wipe feet on.

I just re did mine. Use turpentine to clean everything first. The used contact cement to glue it down. Just be careful with contact cement. You have one chance to get it positioned correctly.

I attached some trimmed carpet squares to my rig. $3.00 at Menards. Got two steps from each square. Attached them with the adhesive used for basement vinyl tile flooring which was left over from reinstalling some loose tiles at my mothers house before it was sold. Been on for about 2 years now and still holding well.

Easy to work with, paint it on position the material, slide around if necessary, then just leave it alone for a few hours to dry.
