Sunseeker 2860DS Motorhome - Satellite ???

What is the best satellite receiver/system that is easy to hookup/connect/use? I've tried researching the different brands available and there are pros & cons to all. What would work best on our motorhome? We plan to travel from NE PA to points west - Mount Rushmore.... the thought of not having any TV signal except antenna

Even when we traveled this past fall/winter for 3+ months in FL, LA & TX - we ran into many parks that had no cable and were forced to watch the 2 or 3 antenna stations. We don't want to ever do that again!!

Thanks

We bought a $49 apple cable to connect the phone to the tv hdmi!

Unlimited phone. Spectrum. Plus all the spectrum channels worK thru the phone. Also have a WiFi antenna and booster. But, most camp WiFi will not support videos well.

I just bought a Dish Tailgater Pro satellite system. I have always relied on antenna until we have frequented some places where all that was available was not worth watching. Just got it set up and going on a weekend trip tomorrow. We'll see how it works. Wish me luck.

I don’t know the year or model particulars about your rig, but on my Forester there is a coax connector directly forward of the rooftop air conditioner unit. I put a Dish Playmaker Dome just forward of the coax and it works great.

The coax is connected to an outlet in the tech cabinet where a Dish Wally connects. HDMI cable to the TV. If you have Dish at home you can add the Wally for $8 a month. If you don’t have home Dish service you could piggyback on a friends service. I think their stand alone RV plan is less than $70 a month. Best yet...NO CONTRACTS.

We've got a 2006 2860DS. Had the Winegard In Motion T4 Automatic Satellite Dish and 2 Wally receivers installed.

As mentioned in another post, the Dish pay as you go plan is about $79/month for us, including some premium channels.

It is easy to use.

Also got the Verizon MiFi and put a network in the rv using an older Dual Band Netgear Router we had replaced. With the smart TV it opens up more options if needed.

Sometimes it's good to have options.

Chris

I use the Dish pay as you go with a King Tailgaiter Pro and a Wally receiver. Couldn't be happier with this setup on my Forester 2801.

We have a dish playmaker. $42 for basic package, $12 more for local channels. About $59 with tax.
