Sunseeker 2860DS Owners!

I just picked up my 2014 rig any issues I need to be aware of. Got it home & has been parked covered waiting for the snow to melt!

My second RV was a Forest River 2860. I loved the slide out pantry. Does this model still have that? I miss that!

I received mine in Nov. 2012. Had a problem with the outside kitchen door warping. It was replaced under warranty. Did a query on this forum back in the fall, seems like only mine and one other person experienced this problem, at least from the response on this forum.

Yes, just pull the TV/Door open, there are input connectors on the rear of the TV that are accessible.

The one thing I did NOT like about the 2860 was that GIANT step up into the shower. I felt it was too high. Is it still high or did FR redesign it?

I think that shower is over the wheel well. Not much we can do about it.

Have taken my new SS 2860DS for its "Maiden Voyage" and so far so good! Someone however pointed out to me that the the key that fits the storage compartments is a " one size fits all" for everyone's RV. Look at your key and see if it is CH751 ! I was chocked but I guess I do see why they do it. Does anyone know a company I can get 10 locks from and they be keyed the same.....me the OnLY key holder.

I haven't done anything with mine, but have considered it. I found a place called rvlocksandmore.com.

I was wondering if all the forest river products were the same key and whether all rv's are keyed alike these days. I know a lot of people are not aware of it which is bad. Not that you cant punch the lock with a screwdriver, but to be aware that someone can just open it up and help them selves. My dealer did mention it to me but knew it already. Just don't know the extent. I guess if someone is going to rip you off not tearing up the door is a plus>

We just bought a 2860DS with the outside kitchen.. I was missing a lot of my manuals, by any chance did you get the 22" Skyworth TV in the back bedroom and if you did, did you get the manual for it? If so could you tell me the model # for the TV?
Thanks
RON

I think it is universal with all makes. Am camping with a group and 4 of them have the same key! Cabinet Parts.com can buy to get all keyed the same the more you buy the cheaper. I have an outside galley w/tv fridge and even though someone could punch in with a screwdriver would feel a bit safer than just opening with a universal key!

Bob,
The book I got for the Skyworth tv has 3 model #s on the front: SLC- 1519A-3S 1919A-3S & 2219A-3S One should work for you. Not sure which model is mine but setup is probably the same for all of them. Tried out the DVD and worked pretty good.

Terrie,
I downloaded a copy of the 2219A-3S which is the 22" a few days ago, but the TV controls, inputs and outputs and the remote do not match up with any of the diagrams or pictures. Not even a close match which make me very suspicious. Can you see the bottom hidden horizontal inputs, outputs, hdmi, power cord hookups and if so do they line up with your manual pictures/ drawing. I can't see mine as there is no long routered access to them the way the TV is mounted as you can see the vertical side ones

Thanks
RON

I agree on the locks but don't want a lot of different keys. I took a fast peek at the link but didn't really ID the ones that would work for sure.. looked at some of the storage stuff also, Storage and kitchen space is a premium on the 2860DS. My wife wanted the Big 4 door refrigerator so lost the slide out can cabinet next to the regular fridge... Always a trade off somewhere. Not much sink area space, and tiny drawer for silverware. Looks like some possible drawer space under left side of sink, maybe a run to IKEA LOL
