Sunseeker DS3010 replace 12 volt batteries for extra amp hours

We have a 2013 Sunseeker DS3010 with two 12 volt house batteries under the steps in the entryway. I was wondering if anybody replaced the 12 volt batteries with 6 volt ones, and if you did how did you do it? Every 6 volt battery I checked on were to tall for the battery compartment. I am looking at going the 6 volt way for the extra amp hours we do a lot of dry camping and the 12 volt batteries do not do the job.

Thanks you

Jim

I had looked into going with the 6 volt option. Yes they 6 Volts are taller. I would have had to add 1 1/2 inch riser to the step, to get the clearance. Was not sure how that would be stepping in and out. But with the 2 12V Trojan group 31 we seem to have plenty when we are dry camping. The group 31,s are a very tight fit but they just made it.
