Sunseeker Electric Box

I have a 2010 3170ds and the breaker box has 5 15 amp breakers, a 30 and a 20. I checked today and the first 15amp breaker controls 7 outlets. The second 15 amp breaker controls the remaining 4 outlets. The next 15 amp breaker is labeled Water Heater. The next 15 amp is labeled Microwave. the 30 and 20 amp are labeled MAIN.

Question: I have a 30 amp service, so the 20 amp being labeled MAIN too is confusing. I can see the 30 amp breaker being the main leg of service from shore. I don't see anything labeled for Refrigerator or Air Conditioner. (I think that is the remaining AC powered things). Any ideas on that? I guess I can turn the fridge on and turn off breakers until it goes out, same with Air Conditioner.

Rant: There are 11 outlets with the RV, 10 inside 1 outside. My rant is that 7 outlets are on one breaker. Those 7 are ALL mid coach. Its easier to mention the ones that aren't on that breaker; 2 in the rear bedroom, 2 in the above bed bunk. What sucks about that is if i have the ice maker plugged in and running, no other electric hog can be used in a convenient area, like the coffee maker, or a hair dryer. It would have been nice to have at least one outlet on a separate breaker in the middle of the coach.

Does anyone else have this model and know about the wiring that can help me figure out the fridge and Air conditioner and the 20 amp breaker?

Thanks!

Post a photo of your AC breaker panel. Sometimes the label doesn’t line up with the breakers or the label is wrong.

I should go look at mine before I answer, but I’m guessing the air conditioner is wired to the 20 amp breaker and the 30 amp breaker is the main.

For the fridge, assuming it’s a two way, there may be an outlet behind the exterior refrigerator vent cover. You could plug a light bulb or something into that outlet, or check it with a meter, while you flip breakers to determine which breaker runs the ‘fridge AC power. The 2 way refrigerator control panel will be powered by the 12 volt system.

It looks like the 30 amp breaker is labeled as the main, and they just neglected to label the 20 at all. There is a dashed line between the 30 and 20 on the label. See if the 20 amp is for the AC.

I’m not sure but it looks like your panel could also be used for 240 service but only half of it is being used since you have 120 volt service. That is why there is another main slot but it is unused.

It’s a shame the builder didn’t make use of the far left slots and add two more circuits to split up the loads.

I just watched a video on the installation of this distribution panel and it looks like there is one breaker spot that is the MAIN and it lights up the entire positive bar (where the breakers go). So, on mine, the MAIN slot is a tandem breaker. that seems wrong to me. I GUESS it will work.... but i never saw a tandem breaker have 2 different amperages.... is this a thing??

That's a dual purpose distribution box. 50a or 30a depending on model R/V built.

Thr main slots are pre-printed and when using the box as a 30a box, if you put a tandem breaker in the main slot, it 'appears' both are mains but one is not. It's a shame the factory didn't label it correctly.

I'd bet too the 20a is A/C.

Just as of tonight, I have. So I just looked on-line and they seem to be readily available.
