Sunseeker Squeak Solved

Our 2015 Sunseeker 2650s-cdw developed a nasty, annoying squeak right behind the driver. Turns out it was caused by 4 loose screws on a black plate that is part of the slide. There are 8 screws, 2 rows of 4, one of the 4 which had almost worked itself out, with the others being quite loose. Very odd. Re-tightening the 4 attached to the motorhome side eliminated the problem. The screws were not stripped and seated nicely when tightened. I suspect they weren't tightened properly upon assembly. Still, I am sure everyone can appreciate the relief when a squeak is silenced.

Yeah.....probably no amount of WD-40 was gonna fix that squeak you were hearing.

I have a squeak on my 2440DS in the same location and need to check. How do you access the screws
Picture would be helpful
Thanks !

Sunseeker Squeak photo

Attached is a photo of the plate I was referring to. With the slide in, its a simple matter of reaching in with a 3/16 socket or wrench and tightening the screws on the motorhome side of the slide opening..

Where exactly is this plate? I cannot tell from the picture. Can you direct me to where it is, inside or outside? Thank you.

There are 4 plates, 2 on each side, one up and one down and they are inside the motorhome. With the slide fully retracted, as in the slide is inside, they are attached to the side of the opening for the slide in the motorhome. There are 2 errors in my reply; the photo is sideways and and it's a 5/16 hex head not 3/16's. I tightened all of the screws on all 4 of the plate using a 1/4" drive socket with a couple of long extensions. Most were tight with the exception of the upper plate closest to the driver, the 'squeaker'. Hope this helps.
