Burnt on the capacitor should have nothing to do with thermostat coming on . T-stat is 12 volts and Capacitor for fan compressor is 120 volt . look for a burnt 12 volt fuse
Well screw me should read all the posts see this is 5 months old

this comes form my electrical engineer. Not sure if this will help or not.

"The 12V to the AC thermostat is supplied in the AC opening. The circuit wire is a 14 gauge Tan (positive) and white (negative). It’s the same circuit as the ceiling and bath vent fans. If the roof fans are operational then the 12v power to the AC would have not blown a fuse. If its determined the fuse is blown, look in the power distribution panel in the bed base and look at the lid to identify “roof” as the circuit to check the fuse."
