Tow haul not working

Does anyone know if there is a fuse for the tow haul? We are having electrical problems with the cab. First the instrument panel lights quit working, and yes, I have tried the rotating wheel dimmer switch a hundred times. Checked the fuses inside and they are all good. Checked two fuses under the hood labeled “cluster” and they are ok. Now the tow haul is not lighting up or engaging which is a real problem driving in the mountains where we live.
We have a 2018 3011 ds Forester. Would appreciate any suggestions.

I assume your 3011 is a Ford E-450. I don't know if you have the 5 or the 6 speed transmission. If the 6, for sure you can shift down by moving the lever to 4, or to 2.

The 5 speed showed 3 2 1.

Electrical gremlins are the toughest ones. It sounds like you're on the road, but is there still some warranty on it. It may take a dealer to pinpoint this one. Good luck.

Transmission

Just FYI - According to Ford Fleet literature the 2016 MY was the last year for the 5 speed in the E Series 6.8L units.

Just for giggles, disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.. and wait a minute and reconnect.. It sometimes fixes a lot of problems..

Your chassis manual should give you a fuse breakdown.

tow haul not working

make sure the light bulbs in the circuit board in the dash are good by taking out and checking them I had this happen to me and had to replace the light bulbs but if your sure the tow haul mode is not working it is probably a fuse but try unhooking the negative battery post and leave it off for about five min and then hook it back up .some times this will reset the computer. good luck

I found the problem. The fuse labeled transmission under the hood was missing. When I was checking them all to see why the instrument lights weren’t working I must have put that one back in a blank space. There was no fuse in that space. I put in a new fuse and tow haul is now working. Still don’t have dash lights but will worry about that another day.

Good job, and thanks for posting up the fix. Hopefully you can now get the dash lights going now.
