I use it because it was made to use when you are towing or hauling heavy loads. I've seen a lot of remarks over the years about the tow/haul mode, I don't understand why you wouldn't want to use it. Saving a gallon of gas (if it saves any at all) versus a new trans, I'll pay for the gas.

Yep, same here. My truck logs all miles connected to a trailer...tow/haul better had been activated.

I have a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. First, i have never heard of "Increased Transmission Fluid to the Cooler". I am not saying it isn't true, just saying i never heard of it. I DID read in the OWNERS MANUAL, that shifting to Tow Mode does increase the power output from the alternator. But more importantly i think i read that when the COMPUTER/STABILITRAC realizes that there is a trailer with another set of brakes, it utilizes this as another safety feature to keep control of a vehicle under emergency circumstances. I do not know if this happens only when in Tow Mode, or if it happens simply when a trailer is plugged in, but it is something to consider.

Also tow hual mode increases your blinkers from 3 times to 6 times on later models when you use the lane change feature.

One thing I've learned from the many tow/haul threads on this forum (and others) is that readers should NOT accept as gospel all the general comments made about T/H functions. Although these are on the internet, they are not across the board true. One might write "T/H causes ________" and it might on their vehicle but it doesn't on others. T/H is not created equally across all years nor across all lines. I've read "T/H locks out overdrive (or high gear)", but it doesn't on mine. In T/H mode, my truck will tow my trailer in 6th (high) gear (my two top gears are overdrive) AND in 4 cylinder mode.
Word to the wise: when you read something here about tow/haul mode, don't automatically believe it. Check with your owner's manual (or with Turbs - or is it Turns?) about the T/H function of your specific vehicle.

Yes, but even that feature didn't exist on my last truck.

I use tow/haul all the time. There is no significant difference in millage difference between the two. Set it and leave it.

One added bit on the E-450 with a 2010 & newer (maybe 2009) Torqueshift. I've been told using tow/haul makes the tranny start off in 1st gear, normal mode you are starting off in 2nd. If you count the shifts while accelerating you will feel a extra one in tow/haul mode.

Our 2010 E450 uses all 5 gears in normal and in tow/haul.

I find the tow/haul on my 2015 Tahoe work much better than it did on my 2004 Tahoe. I tow my Surveyor 264 in 5th most of the trip I am currently on. While a fairly flat trip except for the hills in southern Missouri I was able to run with the cruse control on. I could nto do this with the 2004 Tahoe and same trailer.
