Towing car & bikes hitch question

I have a 2008 forest river forester. Will be towing a Toyota Corolla (2800 lbs)
And two mountain bikes.
I’m looking at a Curt hitch 45792 dual receiver hitch.
Does this sound like a good idea.
I’m new at all this.
Thx in advance.

There is no tongue weight with the car and only from the bikes. depending on how long the stinger is on the bike rack I would be concerned with the clearance from the toad when making turns.

We successfully use a similar dual hitch to carry two bicycles on a rack, and flat tow a car with a Blue Ox tow bar. There is no interference with our setup, but the design of your bike rack would determine whether it will all fit.

If the numbers don't work out for you, it's possible you could put a receiver on the Toyota and put your bike rack back there.

Towing with bike carrier and toad

We tow a Jeep Cherokee and use the double hitch for the bikes. We also have a extension for the blue ox so it wont hit when turning sharp. We could put the bikes on the toad but I like to cover them on extended trips and a cover would obscure the tail/turn/brake lights on the toad. This has worked for us.

We use the Curt dual receiver all the time, and find that it works great with my UTV trailer and load (2500#) plus the bike rack. I use the top on for my kayak rack and supporting bars, and the lower for the bike rack when we go to AZ. Handiest arrangement ever!
