Towing my boat for the first time with 3051s.

I am going camping this weekend and bringing our boat. It weighs 2100 pounds. I'm going to be traveling over some fairly steep grades. is there any words of advice that I should have before I go thanks

Don't try to be first....be smooth. Whatever speed sounds and feels good going up hill......same speed down. Use tow/haul button if you've got one.....or use manual shifter for engine braking down hill......save the brakes from burning out.

Enjoy.....nothing to it.

2100 lbs , shouldn't even notice it. I just got back from a 400 mile round trip pulling a 4000 lbs boat in high winds and steep grades going in and out of Salt Lake City. Our 3171 did a great job.

We pull a 2 horse trailer with no problems so far. I'm glad I don't have to back it up. I finally figured out the goose neck this seems so much harder.

Gas mileage is better without it but it weighs about 5500# loaded.

How are you launching the Boat? Hope you have a good ground guide, mine is hopeless! I installed a hitch on the front to make things easy. DON"T BE THAT GUY BLOCKING THE RAMP!!!

I've been backing trailers for years. No problem with the MH. Even taught the DW. Now I get in the boat and once in the water she is off to the parking lot . Have to omit , we do make a good team.
