In Post #15. You stated removing the battery. I don't thing you should do that as it also provides battery power to the brakes for emergency braking should the trailer come disconnected.

In post #15 I also came to conclusion that it cannot be done*. However, you are correct. Had it been feasible, I would have connected a motorcycle battery to power the electric brakes.
