Transmission Temperature

I have a 2017 Forester on e450 chassis and worry about my transmission tempature. Cause I know when Im pulling with my truck the transmission temp. Is what I need to worry about compared to engine temp. So is there an aftermarket gauge to see the transmission temp? I was looking at scan gauge but it looks like they only have a water temp reading.

I would look at forscan and a compatible odbii adapter. On my 2009 f150 it had transmission tempature so I would guess it would on yours.

I have a Scangauge in my E-450, you have to try a few custom codes for tranny temp to find the correct one but it wasnt hard and mines working great. I did the coin tray mod and installed it in the dash.

I have this and it simply plugs in to your obdi port, download an app on your phone and you van see real-time temps of engine oil, transmission temp, coolant temp and so much more. Simple plug and play. Click image for larger version

Only about $22 for the devise and 4.95 for the Tourgpro app.

Another scan gauge user here. Worked great all last year.

I did the command strip Velcro (plastic and not cloth kind). Put on top of dash above steering wheel so I could glance at it easily going down the road.

It takes some work with a dremel to open it up a bit for the scangauge but it fits nicely when done.Click image for larger version
